Bret White


Bret is a Director with Cox Howlett & Bailey Woodland working at state, national and international levels.  Bret has practiced as a qualified architect for over 30 years having joined COX in 1996.  During this period of professional activity, Bret has amassed substantial experience in a broad range of projects within Australia and overseas and has been actively immersed in leading the design and delivery of quality architectural outcomes.  Many of these projects have received architectural awards at state and national levels.  These projects reflect Bret’s passion for both a design rigor and detail integrity.

Bret is intensely committed to design excellence and contributing positively to the built environment.  He is a strong advocate of design quality and is actively engaged in all phases of his projects.  Bret provides design continuity on key strategic projects, from the formation of the architectural concept to the relevant detail selections and material selections at documentation. His broad design experience incorporates architecture, planning and interior design.

Bret also actively contributes to the office studio through various roles. He mentors post-graduates in their formative career development as well as continuing an active participation with the University of Western Australia Mentor Scheme. Bret orchestrates continuing education events for studio staff, discussing architecture, materials and details. He personally leads the ESD Sub-Committee in the Perth studio and actively participates at the national level, instigating key initiatives for Cox Architecture.

Bret is integral to project resourcing and day-to-day management of the studio, as well as contributing to the overall stewardship of the practice and its well-being as a creative design studio.
