Wesley College Moubray Street Redevelopment

Melbourne, Victoria

The rebuilding to the north eastern frontage of the campus has enabled the design team to challenge and rethink the spaces for learning at Wesley College’s St Kilda Road Campus.

The design of the Music School provides a central facility for Wesley College’s creative arts education programme, bringing together the creative departments of music, performing arts and digital arts. The proposal aims to stimulate interaction and exchange of information between staff and students as well as engagement with the broader campus.

Informal spaces will encourage informal learning between programmed classes, and the work of the departments will be on display to students and the wider community.

The scheme aims to create a building that not only functions as a teaching environment but that fosters a network of spaces and places outside of the formal classroom, offering nodes for collaboration that support a series of networked activities.
