Rhodes Waterside is a mixed-use waterfront precinct located at Homebush Bay, and is part of a broader strategic government urban renewal program. The Homebush precinct is located at a pivotal location on the Parramatta Road Corridor, midway between Sydney CBD and Parramatta CBD, focussed on Olympic Parklands. The Rhodes site itself is 23 hectares in size.
The master plan connects an upgraded rail station to a public domain of new streets and open space including a public foreshore and the integration of a regional shopping centre. The public domain framework was developed together with Oculus Landscape Architects. The site links to Rhodes Corporate Park at the north of the rail line, connecting housing, workplace and retail in one precinct.
The precinct includes 1,600 dwellings, 40,000m2 of commercial space and a 50,000m2 retail and leisure precinct. As well as delivering the overall master plan, we were the architect of the Stage 1 apartments known as the “Cox Richardson” complex.
