Nugroho Utomo joined Cox Architecture in 2011 after completing his Master of Architecture, for which he was awarded the Australian Institute of Architects Student Medallion.
Nugroho was appointed as an Associate in 2015. He has experience in complex public, commercial, institutional, sports, mixed-use and housing projects. His experience ranges from local community-based projects to large international commissions, specialising in the speculative and conceptual phases. Most recently, he has led the design and delivery of the Willinga Park Covered Equestrian Arena in Bawley Point, NSW, currently nearing completion.
Nugroho is also a Guest Lecturer and PhD candidate at the University of Canberra’s faculty of Arts and Design, where he has taught design, history, and theory units since 2009. His published research focuses on Brutalist architecture in Australia.
