Michael’s experience is substantial across a range of areas including health, master planning, residential design, climate-specific façades and external envelope design development, and large steel structures.

Michael leads health design in Sydney, including projects for the Royal North Shore Hospital redevelopment and the Community Health Centre, and Dubbo Hospital – from master plan through the planning of Stages 1-4 and the delivery of Stages 1 & 2.

Other major projects include the master plans for Discovery Point at Wolli Creek and the approved concept master plan for the Carlton & United Brewery Site, one of Sydney’s most important inner-city development sites.  He has also led teams for façade and external elements in the design of King Street Wharf in Sydney and the Sydney Superdome (now Allphones Arena) for the Sydney Olympics.

Michael is an enthusiastic advocate for technology to enhance the design process. He has been a leader in the implementation of BIM (Building Information Modelling) as a component of digital design within the national practice. This has included extensive consultation with industry, design professions, and government on this emerging mode of project delivery.
