Ali graduated with Honours from the University of Queensland in 2007 having undertaken architectural studies in Brisbane and Germany. Since joining Cox Architecture in 2008, Ali has worked on a diverse range of project types, with a particular interest in the resolution of complex briefs from master planning to detailed design.

Her experience with the practice has been predominantly in the public realm, encompassing university, cultural and sporting projects. She was a central team member for the new UQ Oral Health Centre at Herston from project inception to contract administration. She was Project Architect for the challenging refurbishment of the Queensland Museum, which allowed her to explore her keen interest in connecting existing architecture with new.

Ali played a key role in the concept design for two Commonwealth Games projects, the now completed Gold Coast Aquatic Centre at Southport and the recently completed Queensland State Velodrome at Chandler.

Recently, her experience has extended to multi-residential and commercial building types, encompassing projects in Queensland and Malaysia.
