As leaders in sport and stadia architecture, we are currently looking for talented individuals who value forward thinking, collaborative environments and who are dedicated to design to join our Sports architecture team.

Cox Sports work on delivering major projects across the Australia and in Asia, with notable venues like Adelaide Oval, AAMI Park, New Perth Stadium and the new Townsville Stadium in their portfolio.

Jeremy Graham is just one member of the team who followed in his father’s footsteps to enter the architecture industry.

“Working with an outstanding Sports team on stadiums all over the world is an exciting and educational experience every day”.

Beyond developing design skills, Cox staff work on projects that directly impact cities. Senior Associate Chris Smiles leads the Cox Sports team in Melbourne, where many of our projects are now sporting and cultural icons.

“We are privileged as architects to work on major sports projects here at Cox which contribute so much to our cities and bring a sense of local pride to those who use them. Sports buildings often become recognisable symbols through their architectural and structural expression and provide much opportunity for creativity and innovation.”

“Value adding to community, whilst working within a fun collaborative team environment at Cox, means I kick career goals every day” agrees Natalie Geier, a core member of our Interiors team.

Registered Architect James Allison was the first employee at our Adelaide studio, shortly followed by now-Director Zoe King. The Adelaide studio was the base for all Adelaide Oval redevelopment operations, which gave James a broad insight into the architectural process, as well as invaluable experience in working on the design of such a city building-project.

“Since joining the Cox Sports team 7 years ago, I have worked on some amazing landmark projects and been a part of a close team dynamic. The projects we have worked on have transformed the public experience of sport in the various states they inhabit, which is very exciting both as an architect and sports spectator.”

Kirsty Dicker, an architect also working from our Adelaide studio shares this sentiment, noting that experiencing your work is incredibly rewarding.

“Working with Cox Architecture on these city-shaping projects has been inspiring, challenging, rewarding – the best part is that you get come back and experience them as a member of the public.”

“With a broad range of iconic sporting venues designed by Cox to date, from AAMI Park to Adelaide Oval, it’s phenomenal to be involved with future projects, thereby continuing the Cox sports legacy, ” says graduate Damian Palamara.

We currently have a number of available positions for experienced architects within our International Sports Team, based in our Melbourne office. Candidates must be prepared to travel and/or work internationally for several weeks at a time as our practice continues to expand across Asia and globally.
